Thank God for the Almost

There's a Thomas Rhett song titled "Almost" that came out exactly when I needed to hear it. I love this song and the idea behind it so much. Here's a little piece of the song -

"Thank God for the almost

Thank God for the so close

Thank God for the right

Not left I took when I came to them crossroads

For the doors that opened, for the ones that slammed closed

Yeah, without them where would I be?

Man, I don't know

Thank God for the highs, thank God for the lows

Thank God for the almost"

Throughout our lives, we’ve all experienced "almost" moments. Whether it’s a job you almost got, a relationship that almost happened, or maybe even a traffic light you almost made. Every single one of us most likely has a list of things that almost happened to us. Sometimes these "almost" moments are lifesavers and sometimes they’re heartbreakers. Despite what your "almost" moments was or is, it’s now time to thank God for the almost. We should all just stop and say a big thank you to every single thing that almost happened to us. Because what’s meant to be will always find a way. If it’s made for you, it’s not going to pass you by.

I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason. We are all destined for something wonderful and magical. Sometimes the journey to our destination is frustrating and feels hopeless. But all of the struggles and frustrations are going to be worth it in the end. When your moment finally comes, you’re going to be beyond grateful and appreciative. Because what yours will find you.

You may find yourself dwelling on the things that almost happened. I sure know that I do. It’s easy for me to get caught up in what almost happened and how great things almost were. Why do I waste time and energy focusing on what almost happened instead of what did happen or what could happen? I’m slowly learning and working on focusing on the present rather than the past.

Some people may think of “almost” as a sad word. I think it’s a wonderful word. I think it’s a word that reminds us to be grateful and appreciative. It’s a word that leads us to success and happiness. We aren’t meant for everything that comes our way. We have to go through the highs and lows. It’s just a part of life! Every "almost" is putting us one step closer to the perfect job, relationship, adventure, or whatever else you’re destined for. There’s always something bigger and better right around the corner. An “almost” can save us from something we’re not quite ready for. The “almost” makes us work harder than ever before. If everything came easily and quickly would it mean as much to us? Probably not.

If everything that almost happened to us had happened, our lives would be completely different. We’d most likely not have the same job, friends, or even just life in general. Every single “almost” in our life has saved us from doing something that wasn’t meant for us. The universe uses “almost” as a way to save us for something bigger and better. You are exactly where you need to be in life. Everything is happening for a reason and you will be okay. You will be successful. You will find what you’re looking for. In the meantime, enjoy the journey and fall in love with the process. Trust that every no is taking you where you need to go. Most importantly, thank God for the almost. 🦋✨
