Let's Talk Workouts

Truly nothing is better than a finished workout. But it’s also important to enjoy the workout! There’s so many different ways of moving your body and staying active. You do not have to spend a fortune to stay fit. Here are some of my favorite workouts and ways to get moving!

1) Free workout classes! There are free workouts absolutely everywhere. You can find them on Instagram more often than you would think. Follow your favorite gyms and fitness accounts! You’d be surprised at how often they do giveaways or free class events. Recently, I’ve done a lot of wonderful classes through Free People Movement. They did a little promo on their Instagram stories and that’s how I signed up! Trial classes are another great way to get in a free workout and see if that class is something that interests you.

2) YouTube! YouTube is full of workout videos. There’s literally something for everyone on YouTube. Whether you what high intensity, yoga, abs, cardio, pilates, stretching, you name it... it’s on there! Here’s a few of my favorite accounts:

3) Yoga in the park! Grab your yoga mat and head to your local park. Or even your backyard! Honestly, anywhere that’s got a little bit of sunshine and grass will be perfect. This is such a fun way to get fresh air, some sun, and move your body! My friend and I did this recently, and it was the highlight of my day! We pulled up videos on our phone and just followed along. I highly recommend!

4) Take a dance class! I absolutely love to dance. It doesn’t even feel like exercise! Due to COVID-19, a lot of dance classes have been moved to virtual platforms such as Zoom. Which means that you can take a dance class right in your living room! It doesn’t matter if you’re good dancer. I promise you will have so much fun! I’ve been taking Millennium Dance Complex’s online classes.

5) Hiking! I’m lucky enough to live in Los Angeles where there are tons of hikes. Fryman Canyon is my go-to! Some of my other favorites include Runyon Canyon, Griffith Park, Wisdom Tree, Franklin Canyon Park, and Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park. Check out your local hikes and hit the trails!

6) Walk and talk! If you aren’t by any trails, that’s totally okay! Walk around your neighborhood. It’s even better if you go with a friend! I like to call these “Walks and talks”. It’s the best way to catch up with someone while getting your steps in for the day.

I hope this gives you a little bit of inspiration for your next workout! Stay tuned for more ideas. Remember that exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not what you can’t do! Have fun! 🦋
